McCallie Summer Group Swim Lessons
- In the Indoor Pool in the Sports and Activities Center are designed to teach boys and girls the four competitive strokes – freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. (The Director of Swim Lessons, Stan Corcoran, also offers private lessons to children afraid of the water or who are not considered “water safe” – contact him at 423-493-5536.)
Swim Lesson Sessions
2017 Dates: All sessions follow “McCallie Day Camp”; lessons are 3 days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4-4:30.
Session 1: June 5 – 9
Session 2: June 12 – 16
Session 3: June 19 – 23
Session 4: June 26 – 30
Session 5: July 10- 14
Session 6: July 17 – 21
Times: 4:00-4:30 pm, Late fees after 5:00 PM $25 per day.
Cost: $55 per week (30-minute lessons on Tues., Wed., &; Fri.)
Group Swim lessons available after Day Camp; First Campers already have lessons during their camp time and do not sign up for these after camp lessons. If your camper is attending any other camp you must call the Director, Stan Corcoran, to schedule lessons at 423-493-5536
Ongoing Swim Lessons throughout the year:
McCallie Swim Lessons: Are open to boys and girls from 2 years of age and up. We offer private lessons for children who are under 4 1/2 years of age and who are not afraid of the water. Private lessons are 15 minutes or 1/2 hour. Group lessons are for girls or boys older than 4 1/2 years old. The are offered to those who have some swimming ability. Group lessons are a 1/2 hour. About the Director
Stan Corcoran, Head Varsity Swim Coach
In 2010, Stan Corcoran was voted USA Swimming Coach of the Year by his peers throughout the region that includes Tennessee, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. This award is one of the highest honors a swimming coach can receive since this region is one of the most competitive in the country.
